An ugly duckling on an amazing street in the best neighbourhood ever, this house was well loved but crying out for an update.
Here it is now…
Yes, those are freaky porcelain dolls in the living area. They gave us the willies, as did the shag carpet and plastic wall cladding. So out it went and this area became the kitchen and dining space.
The sun room at the front had the most amazing light and connected us to the community outside. We opened it up and used it as our living space.
The kitchen was rampant with cockroaches and the occasional rat. So that got torn out and became Cave’s room. No rats allowed (or girls).
The master became the girls room but I can’t find my photo of it finished, so I have a pic of the new master instead.
And finally, the main bathroom. The heritage people nearly got involved in a bid to keep the amazing plastic shower screen with real seaweed, sand, sea horses and fishes in it. But don’t you think this look is a little cleaner (and a lot less purple)?
